Natalie Chambers BSc, MSc, PsychD, CPsychol
Chartered Psychologist
I am a Counselling Psychologist in London registered with the independent health regulator, The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS). In order to achieve this level of accreditation, Psychologists must have a recognised first degree in psychology and have successfully completed an accredited postgraduate training. This requires a minimum of six years full-time training in psychology.
Clinical Experience
I have been in clinical practice since 2003 working with individuals and groups presenting with a broad spectrum of difficulties. My clinical experience includes working in acute inpatient settings, community mental health, primary and tertiary care services within the NHS. I spent five years working with students at King's College London, where I was a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) specialist within the Student Counselling Service. I spent four years working with serving military personel, developing specialist expertise in the treatment of trauma. My private practice was established in 2007.
I also have experience of providing clinical supervision, including to trainee Counselling Psychologists.
Additional Experience
Academically, I was an Associate Lecturer at the University of Surrey and have taught undergraduate psychologists at Birkbeck College. I have presented my research work at conferences, including the BPS Division of Counselling Psychology conference.
